Miami treated me so well. The vegan scene there is vibrant and expanding. I was honored to speak at the 2016 Seed Food & Wine festival, and saying yes was one of my best decisions. I stayed at The Palms Hotel & Spa in a comfortable room overlooking Miami Beach, waking up to sunrise views every morning. It was a joy to soak up warm sun, walk on the beach, and even swim — in November! Below I share highlights from my short but memorable vegan getaway in Miami.

I made a short video about the trip and the delicious food I sampled while in Miami. It captures the festival energy and a few favorite meals. I hope you enjoy it. If you plan to visit, consider The Palms Hotel & Spa for a relaxing stay — their beachfront grounds are lovely and convenient for exploring the city.
I can’t wait to return and explore even more vegan restaurants. With only three days in town this trip, I missed several spots I’ve been eager to try, such as Choices, Della Bowls, and Plant Food & Wine. I’m also hoping to discover Cuban and Haitian vegan restaurants on my next visit — if you have recommendations, please share them. I’m excited that Helene Henderson’s Malibu Farm will be opening in the Nobu Eden Roc Hotel soon; it’s already on my list for next time.

Overall, Miami was a refreshing and inspiring stop. The city’s growing plant-based community and diverse dining options make it a wonderful destination for vegan travelers. I left planning my next visit already — more restaurants to try, more friends to see, and more beachfront mornings to enjoy.
