Last year my partner and I spent three weeks on a cross-country road trip from NYC to LA and discovered the U.S. is far more vegan-friendly than we expected. From Nashville to Phoenix, stylish vegan-friendly hotels and guesthouses are popping up. Below are the places I can’t wait to visit again.

COMFORT & CHARM: Park Lane Guest House | Austin, TX
In Austin, stay in one of the cozy solar-powered cottages at Park Lane Guest House. This property is one of the most welcoming vegan-friendly accommodations I’ve encountered — it’s fully vegetarian and the owner, Shakti, prepares a delicious vegan or vegetarian breakfast each morning. If you’re looking for a peaceful oasis in the heart of Austin, this is a perfect choice.

LUXURY: Mountain Shadows Resort | Phoenix/Scottsdale, AZ
Mountain Shadows Resort was a highlight of our Arizona stay. The suite was luxurious, the lap pool refreshing, and the fitness facilities excellent. Most impressive was the restaurant: the chef created multi-course vegan breakfasts featuring both savory and sweet dishes, fresh-pressed juices, and great coffee. Everything felt curated and convenient, so it was easy to spend an entire day enjoying the resort.

DO IT YOURSELF: SoBro Guest House | Nashville, TN
If you prefer to prepare your own meals while traveling, the SoBro Guest House in Nashville is ideal. Nashville has fantastic vegan options—restaurants like Southern V and Sunflower Cafe are just a sample—but having a comfortable kitchen to make your own breakfasts and snacks adds flexibility on the road. It’s a practical choice for travelers who enjoy cooking and want a home-like base while exploring the city.
Vegan-friendly accommodations are increasingly easy to find across the United States and around the world. Don’t let concerns about food keep you from traveling as a vegan; most hotels are willing to accommodate dietary preferences if you tell them in advance. Many properties will happily adapt meals or suggest local vegan dining options to make your stay seamless and enjoyable.
